About the Opportunity

This is a full time position with great benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance, short term insurance, life insurance, and a generous PTO policy as well as bonus eligibility.  We are in search of a team member for our Audit Department to assist with the preparation of school district taxable value audits in accordance with Section 403.302, Government Code, involving the analysis of appraisal district and tax records to accurately reflect current property values and exemptions.

Compensation: $45,000 - $50,000 / year, depending on experience

Essential job functions are as follows:

  • Provide support to the Audit department as needed
  • Execute entry level accounting tasks
  • Review, analyze, and evaluate reports of numerical data
  • Meet deadlines as delegated
  • Other duties, as needed or assigned
  • Ability to work occasional overtime, outside of normal business hours (8:30am 5:00pm), during certain periods of the year

Experience Requirement:

  • Three years of professional work experience (Required)
  • Two years of experience or education with appraisal district records (Preferred)
  • Experience in reviewing, analyzing, evaluating reports of numerical data
  • Proficiency in using 10-key numeric keypad

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • Two years of college coursework in with an emphasis in accounting from an accredited college or university (Preferred)

  • Strong oral and written communication skills to convey information in a clear, concise manner
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Office suite and Excel Spreadsheet
  • Ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure and prioritize tasks

  • Punctuality and dependability
  • Excellent critical thinking skills

This Position involves:

  • Sitting at a computer
  • Answering phones
  • Attending functional meetings

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, speak and hear. The employee is required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; the employee may be required, on occasion, to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
