About the Opportunity: Our Conroe office is looking for an enthusiastic, energetic attorney with a strong work ethic to represent our clients in the recovery of ad valorem taxes and other governmental receivables. Attorney will not have billable hours.

Starting Pay $80,000 // Compensation: commensurate with experience

Essential Duties:

  • Review legal documents such as pleadings, notices and judgments
  • Make weekly court appearances in San Jacinto County, Walker County and/or other surrounding counties
  • Review all facts, legal issues and documents in a case prior to court appearance
  • Work closely with staff on collection and litigation activities
  • Draft discovery requests and responses
  • Research and analyze legal issues
  • Advise clients on tax matters
  • Communicate with taxpayers and attorneys
  • Participate in monthly office meetings in the Houston Office
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients
  • Participate in marketing and networking activities
  • Attend local evening and weekend events
  • Attend statewide conferences
  • Draft advisory memorandum for firm-wide distribution and/or distribution to clients
  • Assist with appellate matters

  • Manage a large caseload
  • Identify and effectively analyze complex issues
  • Provide research that is thorough, complete and responsive to issue at hand
  • Write in an organized, clear and concise manner
  • Work in a supervisory position

Preferred Experience:

  • 3-5 years litigation experience.
